About this site
Sensus Fidelium is Latin for "sense of the faithful". Somewhere between the Church teaching of the faith (ecclesia docens) and the reception/acceptance of those teachings (ecclesia discens) is some place where all the faithful - prelates, clergy, scholars, teachers, and laypeople -- share some intuitive "sense" or "predisposition" that a teaching is true -- or false. It is a phenomenology of belief. Some part of Church teaching (the deposit of faith) is "known" and "experienced" to be true from multiple perspectives -- under the aspect of the poor, the rich, the masculine, the feminine, the educated, the unschooled, music, laughter, and sacraments. In the open and prayerful sharing of "lived" faith experiences, we find one another and become what we believe.
This site focuses, for now, on the experience of the faithful under the aspect of faith-inspired music. Please join the conversation.
